Why use Office 365 over Google Apps?
Office 365 has been around for years, improving as time continues. Google Apps, then changed to G Suite, and now known as Google Workspace, is slightly newer. Both are powerful and feature-filled, and both have advantages and disadvantages. However, generally people in the business world are more familiar with Office 365.
Advantages and disadvantages of Google Workspace
Google Workspace continues to add new and improved features, and it has many benefits for businesses. It offers different applications, such as Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Meet, and more. A few advantages of using Google Workspace include:
- Allows single sign-on
- Syncs Google Calendar with other Google applications
- Provides quick user upload and storage
- Allows direct management for users
Google Workspace is an important and productive tool, but it does have some disadvantages:
- Requires you to be a Google account holder to use all collaboration benefits
- Requires internet connection to access Cloud
- Newer apps still need improvement
Advantages and disadvantages of Office 365
Office 365 has many advantages, and it continues to progress like Google Workspace. This office suite includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and more. Because of the different applications it offers, there are many benefits it comes with. A few of the benefits include:

- Has secure Cloud storage
- Has advanced security features
- Offers organized tools for creating, collaborating, and communicating
- Provides simplified document and file sharing
- Familiarity
Though Office 365 has plenty of advantages, just like everything else, it does have a few disadvantages:
- Requires internet connection to access Cloud system
- New systems require updated software
Businesses need to be able to create, collaborate, and communicate. With access to the specialized tools that the software has, organizations can easily accomplish their objectives. Though Google Workspace is a great option, businesses are usually more familiar with Office 365, making it more simple and efficient than Google Workspace.
